DeKalb School of the Arts (DSA) offers students a comprehensive education providing speciaized knowledge and experiences in the arts and developing the discipline, appreciation and achievement necessary to meet academic, professional and personal goals. In addition to a full compliment of academic subjects, students are enrolled in drama, dance, vocal and instrumental music, video technology, computer and graphic arts, visual arts, creative writing, and technical theater.
The mission of the DeKalb School of the Arts (DSA) is to provide the highest quality education through academics and the arts.
To qualify for acceptance to DSA, students must: audition in two art forms, have a minimum GPA of 80.0, with no grades lower than 71, submit two letters of recommendation and be interviewed by faculty. Students have the opportunity to develop both academic and creative skills. DSA is the only high school in the system dedicated to the arts and academics. Applications for the 2011-2012 school year will be available in January 2011.
  • DSA is fortunate to have a high level of parental involvement within all areas of the program. The PTSA works to support both the arts and academic programs through required volunteer hours.
  • DSA offers a variety of touring shows for school and civic organizations. Student performers in drama, music, and dance welcome the opportunity to share their specialized training with the community.
