Hightower has been a standards-based school since 2001. As a result, the instructional program is rigorous and is one that celebrates students for achieving academic performance goals. Our school culture is one that comprises many different cultures and many different native languages. We celebrate our school’s diversity and unity. Likewise, our students maintain their native cultures, while exceeding in the acquisition of the one in which they currently live. As a school, our students are expected to read 400,000 books each year. The students have exceeded this goal each year. This year, our student body read over 460,000 books.
Hightower’s teachers are some of the best-trained and instructionally-knowledgeable in our state. Staff collaboration and consistent analysis of our school practices ensures that we maintain high standards and expectations. Hightower enjoys the privilege of developing its teachers as instructional leaders. We are fortunate to have a team-oriented atmosphere, which includes our parents and several dynamic business partners. We have a strong community connection and our mantra is, “One Team, One Vision, One Success.” |
